As many would have seen Drew McIntyre, aka Drew Galloway, was shown live at ringside at this evenings NXT Takeover: Orlando event. Cameras spotted McIntyre at ringside prior to the main event pitting NXT Champion, Bobby Roode against Shinsuke Nakamura.

McIntyre has confirmed to us here at Hashtag Wrestling that he has indeed signed an NXT deal and will be starting again with the WWE under its NXT Brand very shortly, McIntyre has also confirmed that he will be honouring all his commitments before heading to NXT Full Time, McIntyre previously worked for the WWE between 2007 & 2014, where he held the WWE Intercontinental Championship, WWE Tag Team Championship and during a stint in the FCW development, the Florida Heavyweight & Florida Tag Team Championships, Drew has also held multiple Championships across the World including titles in ICW, WCPW, SWA, EVOLVE, DragonGate and more recently IMPACT.

McIntyre was due to take part in the WWN Live “Mercury Rising: PROGRESS Vs EVOLVE” event earlier in the evening but was attacked in the opening segment and cut a promo stating that he would be unable to compete at the event, then a few minutes later he was shown sitting ringside at the NXT event.

It will be interesting to see what happens with any titles that McIntyre currently holds as he is currently the WCPW World Champion.

We will have more on this story as it develops over the coming days.

Update… WWE have now confirmed that Drew McIntrye has indeed resigned with the company and released the following statement…

“Former WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has returned with his eye locked firmly on the NXT Championship.

In the midst of NXT TakeOver: Orlando, rumors instantly began to circulate when the “Sinister Scotsman” was spotted watching the live WWE Network event very closely from his seat in the capacity crowd.

But speculation instantly dissipated when McIntyre revealed to ESPN that he has signed as NXT’s newest Superstar.

This huge news immediately conjures thoughts of dream showdowns between the hard-hitting McIntyre and the NXT roster’s elite. And judging by the reaction of the NXT Universe when he was shown donning a sly smile in attendance, fans were certainly excited by the prospect of him stepping through the yellow ropes very soon.

Stay with WWE.com for more on this developing story, and don’t miss NXT this Wednesday night at 8/7 C on WWE Network”
